 Donkeys still exist in the Balearic Islands, especially the native breed known as the Balearic donkey. This breed, found mainly in Mallorca and Menorca, is part of the islands' livestock heritage and has traditionally been used for agricultural work and transport.
 
 
 The Balearic donkey was once at risk of extinction, but initiatives are now underway for its conservation and maintenance. These hardy animals are well-adapted to the Mediterranean landscape and are recognized for their historical and cultural importance in Balearic rural life.
 
 
 Although they are not commonly found in the wild today, specimens can still be seen on farms, livestock operations, and projects dedicated to the protection of this breed.
