 The seahorse inhabits the waters of Formentera, where it finds refuge among the Posidonia seagrass meadows and marine vegetation. Its discreet behavior and ability to camouflage itself make it a difficult species to observe.
 
 
 Years ago, I was told that it was possible to see a seahorse as soon as you set foot in Estany des Peix. I've never been so lucky, but that memory reflects how the relationship between people and this fragile ecosystem has changed.
 
 
 Small and delicate, the seahorse depends on the good conservation of its habitat. Protecting the Posidonia seagrass meadows and respecting the marine environment are fundamental to its survival in the waters of Formentera.
