 The pomegranate blooms mainly in spring and early summer. The fruit develops from its flowers and grows throughout the summer.
 

 
 Ripening generally occurs in late summer and during autumn, when the pomegranates acquire their color and reach their full development.
 

 
 In winter, the pomegranate tree enters a period of dormancy and loses some or all of its leaves, depending on the weather conditions. With the arrival of spring, it sprouts again and begins a new cycle.
