 The olive tree is an integral part of the landscape and agricultural history of the Balearic Islands. In Mallorca, the centuries-old olive trees of the Serra de Tramuntana grow on dry-stone terraces, a traditional system that allowed cultivation on difficult terrain and which today forms part of the island's landscape heritage.
