 In Mallorca, the Sóller Valley is one of the areas most closely linked to the traditional cultivation of citrus fruits. Its orchards are especially associated with orange trees, although lemon trees are also grown.
 
 
 The topography of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and the valley's climate have historically favored these crops. For generations, Sóller oranges have been an important product of local agriculture and have also been sold outside of Mallorca.
 
 
 Today, orange trees continue to be part of the agricultural landscape and identity of Sóller, and their fruit is used both fresh and in juices, jams, preserves and other products.
